Why I decided to make a switch?

I have always been long nail girly for as long as I remember, I always knew the effects it had on your nails, but it was not good enough for me to change my mind. The reason I was not ready for the switch because of few reasons.

• Firstly it was cheaper to get them done, wher i live its easer and faster to get your nails done. You could you get you nails done on walkin nails salons which was fater and quicker due to this option was always suitable.
• Longer lengths are achievable with this kind of option
• Acrylic nails are sturdier and hence felt long lasting

Over the years, I noticed the nails and skin around my fingers deteriorating. My nails became sensitive and brittle. Despite this, I wasn’t ready to make the switch. Instead, I took collagen and nail growth gummies to maintain healthy nails. But believe me, nothing really worked, as acrylic nails can be incredibly damaging.

Recently, I resolved to make a change and opt for gel on my own nails, no matter what. I knew once I walked into the salon, I would be tempted by the beautiful, decorative long nails option. However, somehow I managed to resist the temptation and firmly requested a natural look instead!

During the appointment, my nails were filed, buffed, and shaped to my preference. The cuticles were pushed back, and any excess dead skin was removed, which I must say was the most satisfying part.

A gel base coat was applied to my natural nails. Once the gel had hardened and dried, I chose a clean polish with a French tip, which the technician executed expertly.

I soon realized why this switch was a good choice; my nails looked clean and pretty, undamaged.

Fortunately, the technician was available to do my nails because they weren’t too busy, thanks to the lovely day outside, which is quite rare in Ireland. The salon is named “Charming Nails.”

The price for hard gel on your own nails with a French tip was £45. The appointment was relaxed, and the tools and equipment were opened in front of me, so I decided to tip the technician, Olga, an extra £5. I felt very comfortable and welcomed, and I would definitely go back!

As someone who enjoys writing and often gazes at my hands, having my nails done is important to me. I never realized how much having short, cute, and clean nails could make me feel really good about myself.

Regardless of your preference, getting your nails done can boost your confidence and make you feel good about yourself. The switch was necessary for me due to the damage caused by acrylic nails. I might sometimes opt for acrylics if they are suitable for me, but until then, I will stick with the alternative and hopefully, this change will be long-term for the health of my nails.
