I decided to post this because I am someone who would always take taxi everywhere. I landed to Edinburgh from Belfast this morning for an official appointment, I thought may be this time I should take advantage of public transport. I couldn’t believe how accessible and hassle free it was for me.
It’s so simple so once you exit the airport go straight to the kiosk where you will buy a tram ticket. You can buy a day ticket for £12 and hop on the tram says Newhaven on it. You can also ask someone if not sure. The tram will bring you straight into the city centre.
Based on my knowledge have acquired from traveling to Edinburgh on a quite to a regular basis. You will get off at Haymarket if you want to visit the Edinburgh castle and explore more of the old town.
The next station after Haymarket when you coming from Edinburgh airport would be Princess street you will get off here if you want to take intercity train, explore resultants, cafes and famous UK retail chains.
Next stop and my favourite is called St. Andrew’s square. Here you will get off to take Tour bus services, a lot high end luxury branded shops are also found in the vicinity and this place is hub of bespoke café and fine dining restaurants as well. Just for reference if you not sure which tram station to get off for Dishoom Edinburgh you will get off at St. Andrew’s Square.
I hope this post can help people who are not sure how to get to Edinburgh City centre using a public transport.
